About
COBA was an important city of the classic period of the Mayan culture, here are Mayan ball game courts, stones engraved with glyphs (stelae), one of them with the numerical count of the end of a cyclical era (misunderstood as the end of the world in 2012), almost complete ceremonial temples used by the rulers of the site, Coba is the archaeological zone with the highest temple in the Yucatan Peninsula, it is located east of the town of Cobá, it belongs to the municipality of Tulum.
You will enjoy a walk through the place in the middle of its middle jungle or if you prefer there are bicycles or tricycles that can give you the tour, you will have a certified guide who will tell you the history of this wonderful place during your tour.
After visiting the ruins of Coba, we will take you to a town called "XCAN" where, in the company of our guides, you will be able to live with the local Mayan community, walk inside the spectacular and mystical grotto, full of stalactites and stalagmites, refresh yourself and fill yourself with energy. in its wonderful cenote that is inside the grotto and also taste a delicious meal prepared by our Mayan women.
Itinerary
- Between 7 and 8 am Van will pick you up at your hotel (Riviera Maya)l
- 9:30 We will be arriving at the archaeological zone of Cobá, tour accompanied by our guide x 2 hours approx, a little less if bicycles and tricycles are used (not included)
- 11:30 Departure from the archaeological zone towards the XCAN community
- 12:30 approx arrival at XCAN where they wait for us in the central square of the town with some tricycles to take us to the place where they wait for us to eat their rich Mayan cuisine, the food can be chicken or pibil pork accompanied by rice, beans, sauce and of course corn tortillas, and to drink, a delicious seasonal local fruit water.
- After lunch we will explore the cave, always in the company of a local guide.
- and at the end of the tour of the grotto we have free time to swim in the crystal clear cenote
