One of the meanings of the translation of Chi-ch'en Itzá is; "City on the edge of the Well of the Itzáes". It is the best example of the migratory movements that occurred in Mesoamerica towards the Early Postclassic, since it brings together architectural features and characteristics of the Mayan area and part of the center of the republic known as the high plateau where other cultures developed.

The Chichén Itzá archaeological zone is famous worldwide for the play of light and shadow that occurs at each equinox on the staircase of the pyramidal base known as "El Castillo" where it can be seen on the days of the change of the spring season March 21 official day in the afternoons, the descent of a snake, which goes down the stairs, represented by the Mayan culture, such as the descent of Kukulkan, the deity related to rain among other attributions, these and more historical narratives such as the use of their calendars , mathematical calculations, the use of geometry to build, astronomy, customs and traditions will be told to you by our guide, so that you can enjoy to the fullest and take home a living memory of pre-Hispanic history.

We will also visit the IKIL cenote, one of the most famous in the area where you can swim and jump from its platforms if you have the skills to do so, and we will also make a stop at the Magical Town of Valladolid to walk around it.

Finally, we will visit a cave with a cenote in the town of X-CAN where you can walk inside the cave and observe, in addition to stalactites and stalagmites, very rare structures of limestone that took millions of years to form and you can enjoy swimming. in its beautiful crystalline cenote, and take impressive photos all this in the company of our local guides who will tell you their stories. After this we will taste Yucatecan cuisine, a fusion of pre-Hispanic heritage, food made by our Mayan women from that place.

Itinerary
  • 5:30 – 6:30 am approx – Pick up at Riviera Maya Hotels, trip duration 2:30 HRS approx, 
  • 9:00 am approx – Arrival at the Archaeological Zone of Chichen Itza tour with official guide for 2 HRS approx  
  • 11:15 am - visit to the Ik Kil cenote near Chichen Itza, free time for this activity 45 min.
  • 12:00 pm Buffet lunch at one of the local restaurants 1 hr to eat
  • 13:30 pm -Arrival in Valladolid, colonial magical town, stop for 30 minutes to visit the central square, its church and maybe buy a souvenir or have a hot chocolate or coffee.
  • 15:00 Arrival at the grotto in Xcan town, 1 ½ hour to explore and swim in the cave-cenote and 30 min to taste Mayan cuisine.
  • 17:00 Boarding in the van to return to hotels.
