Holbox It is a very beautiful tropical island that preserves the charm of a small fishing village with its sandy streets, multicolored houses, small hotels, hostels, restaurants, bars, local artisans and people who are actually dedicated a lot to fishing and currently to boat rides around the island. It is located in the north-west part of the state of Quintana Roo, it borders very close to Yucatan, its beaches are white sand and the colors of the sea vary between turquoise blue and greenish blue, it is a small paradise that mixes its marine waters from the Gulf of Mexico and the Mexican Caribbean, you reach the pier of the town of Chiquila by road and from there you board a ferry, a 25-minute journey to reach the island, it is currently a reserve protected natural since it is the habitat of different animals and birds that reproduce here, an example is the flamingos.

Holbox fishermen were the pioneers in the current whale shark sighting activity which can be seen between May and September, being them the ones who with curiosity little by little over the years were approaching until they realized that they were harmless and thus began to carry people to see them, if you are interested in seeing them I recommend you sleep one night on the island and the next day very early go on a tour with the local operators, or if you prefer we can take you but from Cancun since for logistics it is faster and shorter tour.
